In our recent project, we utilized STAR-CCM+ to perform a CFD simulation on a catamaran, focusing on optimizing the distance between its demi-hulls. By analyzing various configurations, we identified the optimal spacing that minimizes hydrodynamic resistance and enhances overall efficiency. This optimization is crucial for improving the catamaran’s performance, ensuring better speed, stability, and fuel efficiency. The results demonstrate the significant impact of demi-hull distance on the vessel’s operational capabilities, showcasing the importance of precise CFD analysis in modern naval architecture.
