In our project to optimize a high-speed planing hull, we conducted design modifications by adding spray rails in various positions and sizes. We tested both single and double configurations of the spray rails to determine the most effective setup. Using CFD analysis in STAR-CCM+, we evaluated the impact of each configuration on the hull’s performance. The results confirmed that the optimal configuration significantly reduced drag and improved overall efficiency. These design modifications are crucial as they enhance the hydrodynamic characteristics of the hull, leading to better speed, stability, and fuel economy, which are essential for high-speed marine vessels.
