In our recent project, we undertook the design of a hopper barge and its structural components, adhering strictly to the Turk Loydu rules, which are crucial for ensuring safety and regulatory compliance in marine engineering. To guarantee the structural integrity of the barge, we employed Finite Element Analysis (FEA), a sophisticated computational technique that helps in predicting how structures behave under various physical conditions. This analysis was instrumental in identifying and mitigating stress concentration points—areas where stress is significantly higher than the surrounding regions, which can lead to structural failure if not properly addressed. By performing FEA, we ensured that the barge’s design could withstand operational loads and environmental factors, thereby enhancing its durability and performance.
